Career Change Made Easier… A Start!
Career Change Made Easier… A Start!
For some… I believe you can spend years feeling unhappy and unfulfilled and it’s not because there’s anything wrong with you.
I also believe not understanding important things about yourself makes it near impossible to communicate or articulate this for yourself!… let alone to someone else.
Career change isn’t only about choice, it’s also about taking responsibility for doing what makes you happy. What makes you happy is when you work from your strengths, right? What are your strengths? Do you know what they are, I mean really know what they are?
Working from your weaknesses… for years and years… isn’t going to contribute to an abundance of happiness and feelings of fulfilment. Chances are you’ll feel like you’re always struggling. Going against the grain. And THAT’S hard work.
I believe it can affect your self-esteem, your self-worth AND drive for excitement and passion in your work. Not because of anyone in your work environment… meaning, I’m not talking about placing blame. This is about knowing you and making the right decisions for you.
It’s been breakthrough experience in personal growth, plus a few other experiences that have helped me create this awareness. The result is relief and a feeling of “hey, there’s nothing wrong with me, I’m just not utilizing my natural strengths.”
You can do a lot of things today, especially with the abundance of knowledge available to you. Here are a few things I found helpful…
Trust in yourself – if you’ve ever dreamed you could do anything, then take even the tiniest steps toward what would be a dream career for you.
Visit Anthony Robbins’ website and discover your own “Personal Formula for Success”. Don’t worry how long it takes you to fully own what you read about yourself. As long as you make a decision to make positive changes and begin taking action… no matter how small, you’ll feel happier. That’s how it worked for me!
A realization: TRUE! TRUE! TRUE! I need to take full responsibility for the direction my career is going and feel myself making progress. No matter how BIG or small. As a writer I am taking one such step now… in writing this article. I feel better. It’s progress.
What is it for you? Can it be discovering your own strengths and weaknesses to start? It’s pretty cool actually. Gives you great insight to the what and why of what you like and don’t particularly like about work. Plus, greater understanding!… and great incantations!
Have fun!
