The dental hygienist also teaches patients how to brush and clean their teeth. He also gives them advice on the best type of food to take for their dental health. Other dentistry professions include Certified Dental Assistants and Dental Lab technicians. Dental assistants normally help the dentists with a wide range of dental procedures. Some of the duties that are performed by dental assistants include patient comfort, taking the patient’s pulse and blood pressure and preparing dental x-rays. A high school diploma and relevant training are needed for one to qualify for this job. Dental lab technicians take care of the technical aspect of the dentistry job. They create dentures, veneers and crowns as well as splints and orthodontic appliances for the dentists. This job will require you to get a year’s certification in Dental lab technology which is a course offered in most dental colleges.
